Product Description
Fitherm® IG is a newly developed graphite based intumescent gasket. Designed and extruded in different forms, Fitherm® IG can seal the corresponding joint against air transfer and humidity under normal conditions. In case of fire Fitherm® IG expands to multiple times its original volume, forms a heat-isolating shield and stops the spreading of fire and hot gases. Fitherm® IG starts expanding at around 200°C.
Fitherm® IG is developed for a wide range of applications where an intumescent material is necessary to maintain the system integrity and insulation in case of fire.
These systems are for example:
- fire doors and glazing systems
- fire safes
- special containers
Fitherm® IG can be stored under normal room conditions. During handling and processing the wearing of protective gloves is recommended.
Fitherm® IG can be customised to special forms for multiple pplications.
