Product Description
Fitherm® GX is a graphite based intumescent sheet with excellent properties. In case of fire Fitherm® GX expands to multiple times its original volume and forms a heat-isolating shield. Particularly, Fitherm GX starts expanding at a relatively low temperature of around 150°C and expands preferentially in one direction. GX gives a pressure-resistant char.
Fitherm® GX fills gaps and cavities and builds up a very effective barrier against fire and smoke. The outstanding intumescent properties make this product suitable for the most challenging tasks for intumescent materials. Fitherm® GX is a halogen-free product, GX bears a glass fiber cloth and can be laminated with PVC-foil or with a high quality self-adhesive for easy installation and durable fixing.
Fitherm GX can be used in a wide range of applications where an intumescent material is necessary to maintain the system integrity and insulation in case of fire.
These systems are for example:
- fire doors and shutters
- partition walls
- glazing elements, ceilings and floors
- fire safes and document cabinets
- air ducts
- letter box systems
- air grilles and dampers
- pipe penetrations and cable transit systems
Fitherm GX is especially advantageous for the use in areas where an intumescent material with low starting temperature, highly stable and durable char and a preferential expansion direction is needed.
Fitherm GX can be stored under normal room conditions without special care. During handling and processing the wearing of protective gloves is recommended.
Fitherm GX is available as a sheet material in the following standard dimensions:
Thickness: 1 mm or 2 mm.
Size: 1.100 x 2.100 mm with or without self-adhesive backing. Other measures on request.
Lamination with PVC foil in different colours is possible. Encapsulation into UPVC in different colours is optional in a width of 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40 and 60 mm.
