Fitherm® GS-i is a graphite based intumescent product for the most challenging tasks. In case of fire Fitherm® GS-i expands to multiple times its original volume and forms a heat-isolating shield. Particularly, Fitherm® GS-i excerts very high expansion pressure and forms very stable char when exposed to heat and fire.
Fitherm® GS-i fills gaps and cavities and builds up a very effective barrier against fire and smoke. Fitherm GS-i is manufactured with a high precision in its formulation and dimension. It is a halogen free product. Fitherm® GS-i is especially a good choice for applications, where high expansion volume and pressure in combination with the stable char are required.
Fitherm® GS-i strips can be laminated with a PVC foil in different colors, with a fiber glass layer or other materials, on the other side optional with a high quality self-adhesive for easy installation and durable fixing.
Fitherm GS-i is developed for a wide range of applications where an intumescent material is necessary to maintain the system integrity and insulation in case of fire. These systems are for example:
- pipe penetrations and cable transit systems
- fire doors and shutters with high fire-ratings
- partition walls
- glazing elements, ceilings and floors
- fire safes and document cabinets
- air grilles and dampers
- letterbox systems
Fitherm GS-i is especially advantageous for the use in areas where an intumescent material with high expansion pressure and volume as well as highly stable char is needed.
Fitherm GS-i can be stored under normal room conditions. During handling and processing the wearing of protective gloves is recommended.
Fitherm GS-i is available as flexible rolls in the following standard dimensions, other measures on request:
Thickness: minimum 0.5 mm, 1 mm, 1.5 mm, 2 mm or 2.5 mm
Width: 10 mm, 15 mm or 20 mm;
Length: 25 meter with or without self-adhesive backing.
Lamination with PVC foil in different colors or fiber glass clothe is possible. Encapsulation into uPVC in different colors is optional in a width of 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40 and 60 mm.
